The new business season is picking up steam, which means it’s the perfect time to brainstorm future plans and set new goals.
Last year was, to put it mildly, confusing. If I were to rate it, here’s how it would look:
- Revenue Growth for Signum.AI: 7/10
- Product Growth (New Features): 8/10
- Business Process Optimization: 10/10
- Personal Goals: 5/10
Essentially, the year was all about realizing that the old ways no longer work, and relying on previous mechanisms is no longer an option.
For half the year, I resisted this realization, but by the end of the year, I managed to refocus and identify new growth opportunities. Here’s what we’re working on moving forward:
1. B2C as the Entry Point
Last year, I spent almost 90% of my GTM time on outbound sales. We tested all kinds of complex funnels and ran numerous experiments. While this approach worked reasonably well in the Middle East and European markets, it completely stalled in the U.S. It seems like people are simply fed up with outreach via LinkedIn and email—sales messages just don’t get responses anymore.
Interestingly, 80% of our users are marketers who first test our products individually (B2C) and then bring them to their companies, showing their teams and advocating for purchase.
This year, we’ve decided to focus more on Google Ads to attract marketers at a low cost, possibly using free tools to drive initial interest with the goal of later converting them into paid subscriptions.
By the end of last year, I ran a few experiments and achieved these results:
- Cost per click: $0.05
- Cost per trial conversion: $0.70
In my view, these are fantastic numbers, especially compared to our outbound performance.
2. The Power of Ecosystems
Today, nearly 80% of marketers’ tasks can be handled with tools like ChatGPT. Building yet another narrow tool doesn’t seem promising. However, marketers’ interest in learning AI and discovering new tools continues to grow. That’s why we decided to expand our platform with two new directions:
Educational Courses
We plan to demonstrate and explain how marketers can use AI practically to become significantly more effective. We also aim to simplify the learning curve for using our tools—some users have struggled with understanding how they work.
Marketing Community Chats
Over the past three weeks, I’ve had about ten calls with marketing experts who, like me, are actively exploring new tools and approaches. I realized it would be great to bring everyone together in one place to discuss fresh strategies and ideas.
The community chat will be hosted directly on our platform, where users can connect, exchange ideas, and learn from industry experts. I plan to invite some incredible professionals from my network, like VPs of Marketing at leading companies, so users can ask them questions directly and enhance their skills.
As a result, Signum.AI will transform from just a tool into a complete ecosystem that helps marketers master AI and grow professionally.
I’m not sure how all of this will pan out, but my intuition tells me we’re on the right track. I’ll be sharing quarterly updates on our progress.
