Recently, I wrote about the key paradox of the post-information transition and AI integration into our lives. And it’s not the one 80s sci-fi writers (or even I) imagined. They thought AI would take over all the hard work, allowing people to focus on creativity.

In reality, the most difficult and risky tasks still fall on humans, while AI merely helps us brainstorm and generate tons of content—sometimes useful, sometimes completely useless.

Marketing, like any creative profession, changes every day. Some adapt, some don’t. In any case, time will sort everything out. In the meantime, I want to share my observations and predict which two skills will be essential for the marketer of the future.

This isn’t a step-by-step guide. It’s a Top-2 list because, in a world dominated by ADHD, 5 or 10 points in a single post would be overkill. 😅

1. Cognitive Firewall in Learning

This is fundamental because learning is at the core of any profession. We are diving deeper into a world of “free retellings” of events and facts—many of which may have never even existed. That’s why it’s critical to build rationality filters in learning and verify the foundations of our knowledge.

In other words, it’s worth setting a mental checkpoint in advance:

“What if 100% of the information I’m reading or listening to right now is complete nonsense?”

The barrier to becoming an “expert” is so low today that the number of gurus, coaches, and mentors is approaching infinity.

You might think that relying on people with proven experience would be a safe bet. But even that’s tricky—because past experience ages fast. I’ve seen many successful founders from the 2014-2015 wave, who had big exits, completely fail in today’s reality.

So what actually works? My experience = my knowledge.

Just like in prehistoric times: eat a berry → don’t get poisoned? → must be safe.

Top-2 Skills Every Future Marketer Needs to Master

2. Stay Curious, Stay Sharp

To put it simply: never stop gaining new experiences.

It’s no secret that traditional education, MBAs, and similar systems effectively died 20 years ago. They only continue to exist due to inertia.

I genuinely don’t understand why people still waste time on them. Every day, a new LLM (Large Language Model) launches, unlocking new possibilities.

The most productive approach, in my opinion, is spending at least 1 hour a day exploring new tools, testing them, and applying them in real work.

For example, I constantly see marketers still writing reports manually or compiling keyword research without AI, spending 5-6 hours on something that could take 15-20 minutes with the right tools.

The gap between AI-skilled marketers and traditional ones will only keep growing.

Don’t stop learning, or you’ll find yourself left behind.

Maybe everything I’ve just written is bullshit too. But the core message remains the same:

💡 Never stop searching for new experiences.
